💜 Chiggy – Full Body Commitment To Snuggling
There are puppies who enter a room.
And then there is Chiggy, who appears to gently materialize in the middle of the action like, “Hello, yes, I believe this family activity was scheduled to include me.” This 3-month-old, 15.2-pound little heartthrob is part snuggly baby, part adventure apprentice, part melted velvet puddle, and part tiny Australian Shepherd-looking dreamboat with a face that could absolutely get away with tax fraud if he blinked slowly enough.
Chiggy’s story started with heartbreak. He and his siblings came into rescue after losing their mama, an Australian Shepherd, far too soon. Their dad is believed to possibly be a Boxer, and while Chiggy carries that gorgeous Aussie-style look, his personality is pure soft-centered sunshine. These babies have lived in loving foster homes with enrichment, patience, routine, and the kind of care that helps puppies grow from “tiny chaos nuggets” into confident, well-loved little dogs who are ready for families of their own.
💜 The Look
Chiggy is ridiculously handsome in that “who authorized this face?” kind of way. He has big, soulful brown eyes that look like they were designed specifically to weaken adult decision-making skills, and the sweetest wide muzzle that gives his whole face this soft, lovable, kissable expression.
His fur feels like velvet, which is deeply unfair because now he is both adorable AND luxurious. Add in his little butterfly marking on his tummy, and suddenly you have a puppy who looks like he was personally decorated by the universe during a very tender arts-and-crafts moment. He looks more Australian Shepherd than anything else, with that beautifully soft, expressive, bright-eyed herding-dog charm, but in baby form. Tiny cowboy. Velvet edition.
🛋️ Personality & Affection Style
Chiggy is a gentle, affectionate boy who wants to be part of the family, not adjacent to the family, not observing the family from afar, but fully included in the whole beautiful household circus. He loves his people, he loves affection, and he has the kind of sweetness that sneaks up on you and then settles right into your chest.
His love language is snuggling, kisses, tummy rubs, and ear scritches. Especially the ear scritches. Rub Chiggy’s ears and he will slowly sink toward the floor like someone unplugged his bones. One moment, puppy. Next moment, furry puddle. From there, he may politely request a tummy rub because apparently gravity is not a crisis if belly service is available.
He has done wonderfully with a considerate 8-year-old child in his foster home and loves climbing into his lap for cuddles and kisses. He is also good with men, women, and elderly folks, which fits beautifully with his gentle, people-loving nature.
🎾 Play, Enrichment & Daily Life
Chiggy is playful, bright, and ready for fun, but not in an over-the-top tornado-in-a-baby-suit way. He plays with his human and furry foster siblings, enjoys being in the center of the action, and will keep going until his battery abruptly hits zero. Then he simply falls asleep wherever he happens to be.
This is not a puppy who carefully schedules his naps. This is a puppy who plays, plays, plays, and then powers down mid-life like a tiny laptop from 2007.
He loves the ball pit and will happily wade around in it like a small, fluffy king inspecting his kingdom of plastic orbs. He also enjoys squeaky stuffy toys, tug, and chasing a ball. His enrichment skills are already impressive for his age. Chiggy is doing well with snuffle mats, snuffle balls, and level two and three puzzles, which tells us he has a curious little brain and enjoys using it.
Because he is still a puppy, his future family should expect all the normal puppy learning that comes with this age: continued potty training, teething, supervision, routine, confidence-building, and gentle guidance as he grows into his adult self. He is smart and eager to please, so consistent, positive training should help him continue to blossom.
🧠 Training Progress
Chiggy is doing well with potty training. He goes outside when taken out regularly, especially after waking up or eating. If he cannot get outside and a potty pad is available, he will usually use the pad.
He can go up and down stairs and is currently doing well with “sit.” Like any 3-month-old puppy, he is still learning how the world works, where his feet go, what manners are, and why humans keep insisting that rugs and potty pads are not the same spiritual category. He is off to a great start and will do best with a family who can keep his routine consistent and his learning positive.
🐾 Social Life
Chiggy has been great with hoomans! He is also good with small dogs, older dogs, male dogs, and female dogs. He has not been tested with cats.
He shares his humans with other dogs and loves playing with his foster siblings, so a friendly dog around his size could be a beautiful match for him. He would likely love having a furry friend to play with, learn from, and nap near.
🌎 Confidence & The Big Wide World
Chiggy is a gentle soul who loves life. He is curious, affectionate, playful, and ready for his next adventure, especially if his people are part of it. He wants to be included in daily life and will do best with a family that helps him keep building confidence through positive exposure, steady routines, and lots of loving encouragement.
He is not looking for a life on the sidelines. He wants to be in the mix, in the lap, in the ball pit, in the family photo, and very possibly upside down asking for tummy rubs while someone attempts to walk through the room.
🏡 Ideal Home
Chiggy would thrive with an active family who wants to include him in everyday life. He would likely do extremely well with a friendly dog his size, especially one who enjoys play and can help him continue learning the ropes of family-dog life.
His ideal home will understand that puppies are both magical and ridiculous. They need structure, patience, supervision, training, play, rest, and humans who can laugh when they flop dramatically into a nap spot that makes zero logistical sense. Chiggy is sweet, smart, gentle, affectionate, and eager to be part of everything, so the right family will get the joy of helping this special boy grow into the wonderful dog he is already becoming.
💜 Heart of Chiggy
When you look into Chiggy’s eyes, you see a puppy who just wants to be loved. Not in a desperate way. In a pure, open-hearted, “I am here, and you are my people, and life is good when we are together” kind of way.
He is soft without being fragile, playful without being wild, affectionate without being demanding, and gentle in a way that makes you want to protect every bit of sweetness he carries. Chiggy lost his mama too soon, but he has not lost his joy. He loves life. He loves people.
And now he is ready for the part of his story where someone looks at him and says, “There you are. We’ve been waiting for you.”
