Toodle | Adoptable Chihuahua Mix Puppy in Colorado

🚨 THERE HAS BEEN A TERRIBLE ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR.

Friends, I don’t know how to tell you this, but somebody accidentally attached a puppy to a pair of satellite dishes.

This is #Toodle.

Or perhaps she is two ears wearing a Chihuahua costume. 🤔 The jury is still out.

At just 4.5 months old and weighing a whopping 3.9 pounds, Toodle appears to have been assembled by a committee that lost control of the project somewhere around the head-to-ear ratio stage and collectively decided, “You know what? Make ’em bigger.”

Her ears are larger than her head. Not proportionally larger. Physically larger. Air traffic control may want to be notified. If she catches a strong enough breeze, we’re not entirely convinced she couldn’t achieve low-altitude flight.

And yet, as ridiculous as those magnificent satellite dishes are, they’re somehow not even the most lovable thing about her.

Which feels deeply unfair.

Because when you first meet Toodle, the ears are all you can see. You stare.

Everybody stares.

You try to maintain eye contact like a normal person, but your brain keeps wandering back to the ears like a distracted toddler in a candy aisle.

Then Toodle does something dangerous.

She lets you see who she is.

And suddenly you’re not laughing at the ears anymore.

You’re completely smitten with the tiny little soul attached to them.

Once you recover from the visual experience that is Toodle’s face, you start noticing everything else.

The velvety coat that somehow manages to be silver, gray, black, cream, and possibly highlighted by moondust. The enormous dark eyes that look permanently surprised by how adorable she is. The dainty little paws. The tiny body.

And then…

The ears happen again.

Every single time.

You think you’ve adjusted.

You haven’t.

💜 Tiny Body. Main Character Energy.

Toodle’s foster mom lovingly calls her “Extra,” which honestly feels less like a nickname and more like a formal diagnosis.

This little Chiweenie approaches life with the confidence of someone who owns several successful businesses and is late for an important board meeting.

She loves people.

She loves dogs.

She loves attention.

She loves knowing what you’re doing, where you’re going, why you’re going there, and whether she has been included in the planning process.

Toodle doesn’t simply exist in a home. She participates. Actively.

She’s the tiny supervisor making rounds, checking operations, and ensuring quality control standards are being maintained at all times.

Folding laundry? She’s monitoring.

Making dinner? She’s monitoring.

Walking to another room? She’s monitoring.

Breathing? She’s monitoring.

Frankly, she’s carrying a lot of responsibility for someone whose entire body weighs less than a sack of potatoes.

🎾 Professional Fun-Haver

For all her devotion to her people, Toodle is still very much a puppy.

She loves playing with her sisters and can happily bounce between zoomies, adventures, wrestling matches, and cuddle sessions throughout the day.

One of the things her foster family laughs about most is her dramatic relationship with bully sticks.

Toodle firmly believes every bully stick belongs to Toodle.

You see, Toodle believes sharing is a beautiful concept… for OTHER dogs.

When one of her sisters happens to possess a bully stick that Toodle would personally prefer to possess herself, she is not afraid to voice her concerns. Loudly. Passionately. With all the emotional regulation skills of an overtired preschooler. Fortunately, her protests are short-lived. She expresses her feelings, processes the injustice, and then moves right along with life. Five minutes later she’s back to playing like nothing ever happened.

It’s impossible not to laugh.

She’s basically a tiny furry preschooler who sometimes forgets how sharing works.

🧠 Smart Little Noodle

Toodle is curious, fearless, and eager to be involved in absolutely EVERYTHING.

She’s currently learning all the normal puppy things, including potty training, household routines, and how this whole “being a civilized member of society” thing works.

Like most puppies her age, she’s still very much a work in progress in the potty-training department. She’ll potty outside when taken out, but she’s still learning consistency and reliability.

The good news is that she’s confident, people-focused, and eager to participate, which are wonderful building blocks for continued training success.

She already sleeps quietly in her puppy pen overnight and has settled beautifully into foster life.

🐾 Friends? Yes. More Friends? Also Yes.

One of Toodle’s most endearing qualities is how naturally social she is.

People? Love them.

Dogs? Love them.

New people? Also love them.

Her foster family says there truly isn’t a person she’s met that she doesn’t like.

She has spent time around teenagers and has shown herself to be affectionate, outgoing, and eager for attention.

She enjoys other dogs tremendously and would likely thrive either with a playful canine sibling or as the center of attention in a home where her humans are home more often than not and have plenty of time for companionship and interaction.

🌎 Brave Little Explorer

Some puppies approach the world cautiously.

Toodle approaches the world like she already paid admission.

She’s confident, adventurous, curious, and remarkably comfortable engaging with life.

There’s a fearlessness about her that makes you smile.

She’s not reckless. She’s just wonderfully optimistic.

The kind of puppy who seems to wake up every morning convinced something fun is about to happen.

And if nothing fun is happening? She’s perfectly willing to create her own entertainment.

Sometimes by supervising household activities.

Sometimes by staging a protest over bully stick distribution.

And apparently, on at least one occasion, by climbing onto the dishwasher to assist with daily chores.

No one asked for help.

Toodle provided it anyway.

🏡 Her Perfect Family

Toodle isn’t searching for perfection.

She’s searching for connection.

She would thrive with a family who enjoys having a constant little sidekick nearby. Someone who appreciates puppy adventures, puppy antics, puppy cuddles, and the occasional tiny dramatic performance.

A home with another playful dog could be wonderful since she genuinely enjoys canine companionship.

An only-dog home could also suit her beautifully, provided she receives plenty of attention, enrichment, and engagement.

Most of all, Toodle wants what every puppy deserves:

  • A loving, responsible  family to belong to.
  • A lap to curl into.
  • A life filled with adventures.
  • And humans who think giant ears are a feature, not a bug.

💜 The Heart of Toodle

The thing that stays with you about Toodle isn’t actually the ears.

I know.

I was shocked too.

It’s how enthusiastically she loves life.

Everything feels big to her.

Every adventure.

Every cuddle.

Every play session.

Every person.

Every possibility.

She’s one of those rare little dogs who walks through the world assuming good things are waiting around every corner.

And honestly?

The world could use a little more of that.

If you’re looking for a tiny best friend who will make you laugh daily, supervise your household activities with great dedication, love you with her whole heart, and occasionally pick up satellite signals with her ears, Toodle is ready to report for duty.
