🚨 CLEARLY, WE HAVE A LITTLE… SITUATION. 😏
Somewhere in the universe, a tiny puppy was assembled using approximately three tablespoons of scruff, two espresso beans, a pinch of eyebrow powder, and one pair of satellite dishes accidentally borrowed from NASA.
His name is Thomas.
And before anyone says, “Surely there’s more to this dog than his ears…”
Yes.
There is.
But respectfully, have you SEEN these ears?
They genuinely appear to be operating independently of the rest of the dog.
One points east. One points west. Together they seem fully capable of picking up weather reports from Nebraska.
Meanwhile, Thomas sits underneath them looking completely innocent, as though he has absolutely no idea that his head currently resembles a Wi-Fi router with feelings.
And then…
THEN…
If he sits just right, the tan fluff on his tiny chest creates the optical illusion of a miniature bodybuilder who has spent the last six months aggressively focusing on upper-body gains.
Sir.
You weigh four pounds, five ounces.
You are approximately the size of a respectable loaf of bread.
Why do you look like you bench press Buicks?
Please explain the pecs.
You cannot.
Because you are a baby.
A very fabulous baby. 💜
🐾 Meet Thomas
Thomas is a 4½-month-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with the sweetest heart tucked inside the tiniest little package.
His wispy black-and-tan coat looks like somebody lovingly assembled him from soft feathers and good intentions. His enormous expressive eyes seem to hold entire conversations without making a sound, and his famous ears alternate between standing proudly at attention and occasionally flopping over just enough to remind you that he is, in fact, still a baby.
A very tiny baby.
A baby who can fit on your shoulder.
A baby who can curl up on your chest.
A baby who somehow takes up an entire heart despite barely taking up space on the couch.
🛋️ The Gentleman Behind The Ears
While many puppies approach life like caffeinated demolition crews, Thomas seems to have skipped directly to the chapter titled “Professional Companion.”
Don’t get me wrong. He enjoys playing, exploring, and wrestling with his brother.
But at his core?
Thomas is a lover.
The kind of puppy who would happily trade chaos for cuddles.
The kind who thinks laps were invented specifically for him.
The kind who wants to know where his people are, what they’re doing, and whether there might be room for him to participate.
His foster mom says he will climb into a lap and carefully build himself a little nest before settling in for a nap. If you’re holding him, he’ll often snuggle onto your shoulder, rest his tiny head against your neck, and offer gentle little kisses as if he’s personally responsible for maintaining household affection levels.
And when Thomas sleeps?
He has one requirement.
He must be touching his human.
A foot.
A leg.
A lap.
Anything.
As long as he knows you’re there. 💜
🎾 Tiny Explorer, Big Discoveries
Thomas is wonderfully curious about the world around him.
Outside, he enjoys exploring and investigating everything he can find. Inside, he treats the house like an archaeological dig.
A sock under a chair?
Treasure.
A forgotten piece of paper?
Treasure.
A toy hidden beneath the couch?
Also treasure.
Once discovered, these important artifacts are proudly paraded through the house for public admiration.
His favorite toy is a fox that is noticeably larger than he is.
Naturally, Thomas considers this a challenge.
One day he selected an enormous stuffed toy, grabbed it with determination, and proceeded to drag it across the room despite the toy appearing fully committed to fighting back. When he finally reached his destination, he dropped it and sat there looking impossibly proud of himself.
The toy may have outweighed him emotionally.
But Thomas won.
As he always intended.
🧠 Smart, Thoughtful & Learning Every Day
Underneath all that scruff is a very clever little brain.
Thomas has already mastered treat puzzles and enjoys enrichment activities that make him think. He picks up new concepts quickly and is currently working on building confidence in unfamiliar situations.
Because Thomas can be cautious when meeting new people, dogs, places, or experiences, his foster family has been helping him learn that new things aren’t scary. Lots of praise, encouragement, treats, and positive experiences are helping him grow more confident every day.
He’s also making progress with potty training.
He does very well when taken outside consistently and is learning that potty time happens outdoors. Like many young puppies, he’ll still need routine, patience, reminders, and continued guidance as he matures.
The wonderful thing about Thomas is that he truly wants to succeed.
He’s trying.
And you can see it.
🐕 Friends, Family & Social Life
Thomas gets along beautifully with other dogs.
He plays chase with his brother, wrestles appropriately, and happily curls up beside dogs much larger than himself, whether they requested a cuddle buddy or not.
He’s affectionate with men and women, enjoys being around people, and especially appreciates gentle, calm interactions.
Because he is both tiny and somewhat cautious when first meeting new people, Thomas would likely be happiest in a quieter home with older, considerate children or adults who understand that trust is something precious that grows over time.
He isn’t looking for a loud, chaotic household.
He’s looking for connection.
🌎 A Quiet Soul In A Busy World
One of the most beautiful things about Thomas is that he doesn’t need to be the center of attention to be happy.
He enjoys playtime.
He enjoys adventure.
But he also genuinely enjoys simply existing alongside the people he loves.
Watching the world from a lap.
Sunbathing.
Napping at your feet.
Looking out a window.
Following you from room to room just to make sure you’re not having fun without him.
He’s a little soul who finds joy in togetherness.
🏡 Thomas’s Perfect Home
Thomas would thrive in a calm, loving home where affection is abundant and patience comes naturally.
A quieter household would fit him beautifully. Older children would likely be a better match than very young kids simply because of his tiny size and gentle nature.
He would love another respectful canine companion but could also be perfectly happy as an only dog, provided he receives plenty of love and companionship from his people, and is given regular opportunities to socialize with other friendly dogs.
Most of all, Thomas wants to be someone’s little sidekick.
Their confidant.
Their shadow.
Their best friend.
💜 The Heart Of Thomas
When you look at Thomas, the ears steal the spotlight.
They really do.
They’re spectacular.
But after a few minutes, something else begins to happen.
You stop noticing the ears.
You start noticing the sweetness.
The way he rests his paw on his brother when they nap.
The way he curls himself against a person’s neck.
The way he gives little kisses.
The way he chooses love over attention.
The way he wants nothing more than to be close to the people who love him.
For such a tiny dog, Thomas has an astonishingly large capacity for affection.
His foster mom described him perfectly:
He looks like a toy.
But that toy is stuffed with love.
And honestly?
That might be the most accurate description of Thomas in the entire world. 💜
