💛 Meet Quigley 💛
The Apricot Puff With One Questionably Wonky Ear and a Full-Time Snuggle Agenda
There are puppies who are cute.
And then there are puppies like Quigley… who look like someone took a dandelion, wished on it, and it turned into a sentient little being with opinions, feelings, and a very strong belief that your lap is public property.
Quigley is a SMOL, 5-month-old Pomeranian/Mini Poodle mix with the kind of soft, airy apricot coat that doesn’t just invite pets… it demands them. His fur has that perfectly imperfect, slightly tousled, “I woke up like this and it worked out” texture that makes you want to bury your hands in it and forget your responsibilities for a while.
And then… there’s the face.
Round, soulful eyes that hold just enough curiosity, just enough sweetness, and just enough “you’re about to give me a treat, right?” to completely dismantle your ability to say no.
And the ear.
THE EAR.
One stands tall, alert, ready to take on the world. The other has fully committed to a life of leisure and flops off to the side like it has no meetings scheduled and no intention of attending any.
It is not a flaw.
It is a ✨design choice✨.
🧸 The Softest Little Soul
Quigley is not the kind of puppy who crashes into life like a wrecking ball.
He tiptoes in.
He watches.
He studies the room like a tiny, fuzzy anthropologist trying to understand the culture before fully participating.
And then, once he feels safe?
He blooms.
He’ll join in play, chase his foster siblings, squeak his beloved loofa toy like he’s announcing a very important development… and then, just as suddenly, he’ll decide he’s done and melt into a cozy little heap of fluff next to his dog friends like a tiny baked good that has emotionally and physically peaked for the day.
He is gentle. Thoughtful. Mild-mannered. The kind of puppy who doesn’t need to be the center of attention… but somehow ends up being everyone’s favorite anyway.
🎾 Playtime, But Make It Tasteful
Quigley absolutely loves to play… but he prefers his fun with a side of manners.
He’s all about:
• Joyful romps and chase games
• Lighthearted wrestling with his foster siblings
• Squeaky toy concerts starring his beloved loofa
• Brain work with snuffle toys and puzzle games (he’s already working level 2–3 puzzles like a tiny genius)
He will take a flying leap onto a sibling’s head and hang on like it’s a perfectly reasonable life choice… and he has been known to grab onto a bathrobe and take a ride… 😂
But if things get too loud or too rowdy?
He quietly exits.
No drama. No fuss.
Just a polite little “this is not my scene” and off he goes to find his people or his bed.
Because Quigley prefers comfort over chaos.
Relatable, honestly.
🥹 The Snuggle Evolution
Quigley did not immediately arrive as a professional cuddler.
He needed a moment.
A little time.
Some emotional processing.
But once he decided snuggles were acceptable?
GAME OVER.
Now, one of his favorite things in the entire world is being picked up and curled into his foster mom’s lap, where he naps like a tiny, warm, slightly wiggly cloud.
When you look into his eyes, he is very clear about what he wants:
“Snuggle. Treat. Possibly nap. Thank you for your cooperation.”
🌱 Baby Steps, Big Potential
Quigley is still very much a puppy, which means he’s learning, growing, and figuring out how to be the best version of himself.
He’s doing great with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule and will use potty pads if needed.
He’s mastered stairs (which, frankly, feels like overachieving at his size), and he’s currently working on “sit” like a little student who understands the assignment but occasionally negotiates the terms.
He is intelligent, eager, and benefits from watching other dogs, often taking cues from them before trying new things himself.
With continued structure, encouragement, and enrichment, this boy is going to blossom into something really, really special.
🏡 The Life He’s Dreaming Of
Quigley would thrive in a home that feels safe, calm, and full of love.
He would absolutely adore having another small, confident, gently-playful dog to help guide him and be his built-in best friend.
He does best in environments without a lot of loud noise or chaos, as that can make him nervous.
Older, considerate kiddos? Wonderful.
A cozy home with soft beds and even softer humans? Ideal.
A life filled with patience, encouragement, and lap availability? Non-negotiable.
💫 The Quigley Effect
Quigley is the kind of puppy who doesn’t overwhelm you.
He quietly steals your heart.
One gentle moment at a time.
One soft snuggle. One sideways ear. One tiny, trusting glance.
And suddenly, you’re sitting there wondering how your entire emotional well-being became dependent on a 5-month-old apricot fluff with a loofa toy and main-character energy.
It happens fast.
You’ve been warned.
KNOWN HISTORY:
This kiddo was rescued from the pet trade. Living in a real home now, they are learning all about life outside of the cage with their loving foster families. They are enjoying playtime, beginning training, learning structure, and having the BEST time of their lives. (so far)
About This Breed Mix:
The Pomapoo is a small-sized cross between a Pomeranian and a Toy or Miniature Poodle. With their fluffy coats, expressive eyes, and petite size, Pomapoos are irresistibly cute companions. Known for their playful and affectionate nature, these designer dogs thrive on companionship and enjoy being the center of attention.
Pomapoo personality
Pomapoos are known for their friendly, affectionate, and lively personalities. They often inherit the playful and outgoing nature of both Pomeranians and Poodles. Because Pomapoos are intelligent and eager to please, they are relatively easy to train. They are also quite playful with a curious nature, making them great playmates for families. Despite their small size, Pomapoos can exhibit a bold personality and may act as little guardians. They bond closely with their human families and tend to seek companionship, so they do best in environments where they receive plenty of love and attention.
Temperament and behavior
Affectionate: Loves to cuddle and be close to family members.
Playful: Enjoys games and interactive playtime, making them great companions for children.
Intelligent: Quick learners who respond well to training and mental stimulation.
Sociable: Friendly with people and often gets along well with other pets.
Curious: Naturally inquisitive, exploring their environment and seeking out new experiences.
Alert: Tends to bark at strangers or unfamiliar noises, showcasing a protective instinct.
Energetic: Requires regular playtime and exercise to keep them happy and healthy.
Companionship-Seeking: Prefers to be around people and may experience separation anxiety if left alone for long periods.
Training and socialization
Early socialization and positive reinforcement training are crucial due to their intelligence and potential stubbornness. Of course, their intelligence allows them to pick up commands quickly, so early training is key to establishing good behavior from the start. Use praise, treats, and affection to reward desired behavior. Pomapoos respond well to positive reinforcement, and this approach will keep them motivated and engaged.
Pomapoo care
Caring for a Pomapoo involves providing a balanced lifestyle that includes regular exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. These dogs thrive on companionship and should be integrated into family activities to keep them happy and engaged. Daily walks, play sessions, and interactive toys are essential to meet their physical and mental needs. Regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive treatments for parasites are necessary to maintain their overall well-being.
Pomapoo grooming needs
Regular brushing is essential to prevent matting and tangling, especially if they inherit the longer fur from their Pomeranian parent. Bathing should be done as needed, usually every 4 to 6 weeks, using a gentle dog shampoo to keep their coat clean and healthy. Regular grooming appointments with a professional groomer can help maintain their coat and overall appearance. Additionally, it’s important to attend to their nails, ears, and teeth to ensure complete grooming care.
