🐾 Meet Maisie: Brilliant Puzzle-Solver and Socialite

Maisie is believed to be a Labrador Retriever / Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and she is a velvety-soft black-and-white beauty with warm brown eyes, tiny white sparkles on her chest, toes, and tail tip — and a whole lot of personality packed into her petite puppy frame.

Born around 11/3/2025, Maisie and her littermates were heartbreakingly left behind under a rotting porch at just 4-weeks of age when their family moved away. Despite that rough beginning, Maisie is confident, joyful, and ready to soak up every ounce of love you have to offer.

Like her siblings, Maisie is expected to be larger when grown and will need a fully fenced, secure yard to run zoomies and explore. These pups have already started early enrichment and puppy brain games, and Maisie will thrive with an active family who will continue her learning, include her in daily life, and help her grow into a confident, well-rounded dog.

(Breed note for adopters: Lab and Catahoula mixes are typically intelligent, people-oriented, and active dogs who do best with mental stimulation, consistent guidance, and room to move — Maisie is already showing all the best beginnings of those traits.)

🚽 Potty Training Progress: Getting the Hang of the Routine

Maisie is learning how the potty routine works and is making steady progress. She usually goes potty when taken outside and is starting to understand that schedule-based trips are the way to go. She uses a pee pad sometimes, especially when humans are away, and is clearly learning what’s expected of her. With consistency and continued guidance, she’s well on her way.

🚀 Energy Level: Confident, Playful Puppy Power

Maisie is a playful, energetic puppy who loves to run, chase, and wrestle with her littermates. She goes all-in during playtime, then — impressively — will put herself to bed when she’s worn out, choosing her crate as a cozy nap spot. She’s got that wonderful balance of enthusiasm and self-settling that makes puppyhood wonderful.

🛋️ Affection Style: Shoulder Snuggler With Sweet Kisses

Maisie enjoys affection and being close to her people. She likes to be held, will gently rest her head on your shoulder or neck, and tops it off with soft chin licks that feel like tiny thank-you notes. She’s affectionate without being overwhelming — just sweet, warm, and happy to connect.

🎭 Personality: Front-and-Center Kinda Girl

Maisie likes to be right in the middle of whatever’s happening. She’s curious, engaged, and not interested in missing a single moment. When the puppies needed flannel sweaters on a cold day, Maisie didn’t slow down one bit — she jumped, rolled, and carried on like she was thrilled with her new outfit, completely unfazed and clearly feeling herself.

🧩 Play & Enrichment: Puzzle Enthusiast With Determination

Maisie plays hard and plays fairly — she loves tug-of-war with the beloved flat pink plushie, plays chase with her sisters during active play, and enthusiastically joins group romps.

She’s also a serious puzzle fan. Maisie persists until every last piece of kibble is found, working enrichment toys with focus and determination. She enjoys snuffle mats both for snack time and for lounging — multitasking queen behavior.

💕 What She Tells You With Those Eyes

Maisie’s eyes say she wants to be understood. There’s a quiet determination there — a puppy who is ready to work for what she wants, and who is searching for safety, love, and belonging. She’s hopeful, present, and eager to build a life with her people.

🏡 Ideal Home: Fun, Loving, and Ready for Puppy Life

Maisie would do well in a home with fun humans — respectful, dog-savvy kids or adult-only. She’d love another dog to follow around and learn from, and she’ll thrive in a household where someone can be home with her more often than not during her puppy months to guide her, play with her, and continue her training and enrichment.

A fully fenced, secure yard is required, and an active family who plans to include her in daily life will be her perfect match.

🎓 Training & Progress: Smart, Engaged, and Learning Fast

Maisie has been working on:

  • Pottying outside on a schedule

  • Using pee pads when humans are away

  • Appropriate chewing, with redirection to toys and puzzles

  • Coming when called (she usually responds well!)

She’s been given proper toys, enrichment puzzles, and consistent guidance — and she’s showing great engagement and willingness to learn.

💙 Maisie’s Heart in a Nutshell

Maisie is small but mighty, confident, funny, affectionate, and full of sparkle. She jumps into life with enthusiasm, solves puzzles like a champ, and still melts into gentle affection with her people.

She’s the puppy who keeps up with everyone, and makes you belly-laugh without even trying. If you’re looking for a pup with confidence, charm, and joyful puppy silliness wrapped — Maisie is ready to show you what true-love really means! 🌼🐾
