🖤 Meet Maggiepotamus: Queen of Wiggles & Sinfully Soulful Stares 🖤

Folks, there are happy dogs.

There are silly dogs.

And then there’s our little Maggiepotamus — a 28-pound, jet-black, underbite-flashing, corkscrew-tailed masterpiece who looks at you like she’s known you in seven previous lifetimes and is mildly offended you’re only meeting now.

At just 1.5 years old, Maggie is still young enough to have wiggles stored in her back pockets… but old enough to know that the real magic in life is snuggling as close to her humans as physically possible — even if that means sitting directly on your ribcage.

Her face? Criminally expressive.
Her eyes? Betray every single emotion before she even moves. This girl has PERFECTED the “Pout-Pout” face. You’ve been warned. Her little underbite? A permanent derpy little smirk that melts people on contact.

She is shiny. She is soft. She is ridiculously adorable.
And she knows exactly how to use what the good Lord gave her.

👀 The Eyes. The Underbite. The Corkscrew.

Maggie’s jet-black coat gleams like polished onyx. Her body is the perfect “not too big, not too small” size — sturdy but snuggle-sized. And when she stares at you, those tiny front teefs peek out like she’s about to deliver either a profound truth or a snack request.

And that tail?
That waggy little corkscrew of joy?
It’s basically a mood indicator. It doesn’t wag — it vibrates with enthusiasm.

When she smiles (and she smiles a LOT), her whole body joins in.

🎾 Wiggles, Frolicking, and Puppy Energy (But Make It Polite)

Maggie still has puppy exuberance — the good kind. The joyful kind. The “let’s frolic immediately” kind.

She LOVES her toys. She’ll play independently, play with you, or rope other dogs into her fun. She is not possessive. She shares beautifully. She gets along wonderfully with her foster’s older dogs and learned their boundaries quickly without pestering them.

But let’s be clear: if there’s a young, playful dog in the house?

Game on.

Puppies? HECK YES.
Young energetic buddies? Absolutely.

She frolics. She wiggles. She does joyful zoomy arcs across the yard and then circles back like, “Did you see that? That was impressive.”

She’s been using enrichment feeding bowls and is patient with them. She LOVES treats. Incentive-based training will be her jam.

Because Maggie is smart. And food motivated. And eager.

🛋️ When The Wiggles Power Down…

Once Maggie has gotten her wiggles out?

She becomes Velcro.

She does not just want to sit near you.
She wants to merge with you.

Lap? Yes.
Chest? Also yes.
Shoulder? Why not.
Head? She’ll consider it.

She doesn’t always understand exactly where your lap ends and your torso begins, but she’s committed to proximity at all costs.

If you allow dogs in your bed? She would like to formally submit her application.

She is affectionate without being pushy. Sweet without being demanding. She simply wants to be close.

🏡 Potty Training & The Art of Remembering

Maggie is doing well with her potty training. She does her business outside the vast majority of the time.

Sometimes — when she’s deep in Important Puppy Business — she may need a gentle reminder because she gets caught up in the fun and forgets the agenda.

Structure, consistency, and a little guidance will finish polishing what’s already well underway.

She crates beautifully while you’re away, as long as she’s had attention and play beforehand.

🐕 Dog Friends, Humans, and Boundaries

She’s wonderful with men and women. She’s spent time with considerate kids (12 and 15) and done beautifully.

She lives peacefully with older dogs and respects their boundaries. She quickly learned how to coexist without annoying them.

She can still be a bit mouthy in that classic young-dog way — but the important part?

She responds immediately to a firm “no.” She redirects beautifully. She wants to do the right thing.

That tells you everything about her temperament.

There is no meanness here. No edge. No drama.

Just happy. Loving. Teachable.

🦴 Walks, Training & Her Bright Future

It appears Maggie hasn’t had much leash exposure in her previous life, and she’ll need some practice learning how to stroll like the sophisticated little pug-pug mix she is.

The good news? She is treat motivated and eager to please. She will learn quickly with positive reinforcement and consistency.

She would thrive with a confident human who sets kind, clear boundaries and shows her the ropes.

Leadership + affection + playtime = Maggie shining at full wattage.

💛 When You Look Into Her Eyes…

They say:

“I’ve been waiting.”

“I’m ready.”

“I have so much love stored up.”

There’s a depth there. A sweetness. A softness under the wiggles.

She wants her person. Her people. Her pack.

And when she finds them, she is going to pour so much joy into their life it will feel ridiculous.

🏡 Maggie’s Dream Home

A home with attention — human and/or canine.
Another friendly dog would be wonderful (especially a playful one).
Considerate children are just fine.
Structure and gentle leadership.
Playtime AND couch time.
People who appreciate being gently sat on.

She can be crated when needed. She’s fine alone for reasonable stretches if she’s had play and connection.

She does not need perfection.
She needs presence.
