💜 DEMI 💜

✨ Excuse me. Yes. The puppy in the back would like a moment of your attention.

You know how sometimes there’s that one kid in class who ISN’T hanging from the ceiling fan, setting off fireworks, or demanding everyone’s attention every five seconds?

And because of that, people accidentally overlook how absolutely awesome they are?

Welcome to the Demi Fan Club.

Demi’s foster mom says her sister tends to steal the spotlight. She’s the one who naturally draws attention.

Meanwhile, Demi is over here being adorable enough to stop traffic, carrying giant sticks across the yard like she’s preparing for winter, napping in laps, mastering puzzle toys, and quietly waiting for somebody to notice that she’s pretty spectacular too.

Honestly?

It’s time we talked about Demi.

💜 A Face Nobody Recovers From

Let’s start with the obvious.

Those ears.

Those magnificent fluffy little ears look like they woke up fifteen minutes before the rest of her and decided that was good enough.

Then there’s the dark little mask across her face, the black-tipped ears, the teeny white soul patch under her chin, and those warm brown eyes that somehow manage to look thoughtful, curious, sweet, and mildly concerned about your decision-making skills all at the same time.

🎾 Professional Explorer. Amateur Lumberjack.

Demi approaches life the way every puppy should.

With enthusiasm.

She loves exploring the yard, sniffing absolutely everything, chasing her sister, wrestling, running zoomie laps through the living room, and conducting important field research on sticks and pinecones.

Not little sticks, either.

This girl has been known to drag giant sticks to a comfortable location so she can sit down and properly work on them.

Because apparently interior decorating now includes forestry.

Tennis balls are another favorite. She sort of understands fetch.

By “sort of,” I mean she’ll bring the ball back, drop it, and then occasionally decide she would actually prefer to keep it.

Negotiations remain ongoing.

She also enjoys puzzle feeders and snuffle mats, and she’s already showing signs of being a smart little thinker who enjoys having jobs for her brain.

🛋️ Snuggles On Her Terms

Demi is affectionate, but she’s not clingy.

She isn’t constantly demanding attention or glued to your side every second of the day.

Instead, she does something that somehow feels even sweeter.

When she’s ready for affection, she seeks it out.

She’ll climb into a lap for a nap. Curl up for evening snuggles. Settle in close before bedtime.

It’s the puppy version of saying, “I picked you.”

And somehow that always feels special.

🧠 Tiny Brain. Big Potential.

For a three-month-old puppy, Demi is already making excellent progress.

She’s mostly choosing to potty outside and has only needed potty pads occasionally overnight or early in the morning. She settles beautifully in her crate/pen and quickly learned that crate time means nap time.

She rides calmly in the car, handles new experiences well, and is already working on sit, wait, and learning not to launch herself at people with all four feet.

She’s food motivated, eager to please, and impressively smart.

Translation:

This puppy is going to be a lot of fun to train.

🐾 Friends? Yes.

People?

Yes.

Dogs?

Also yes.

Big dogs, small dogs, older dogs, male dogs, female dogs… Demi has done well with all of them.

She loves to play and wrestle, but she also doesn’t seem like a puppy who absolutely requires another dog in the home to be happy.

She shares attention nicely, entertains herself well, settles alone without much fuss, and has the confidence to stand up for herself when play gets a little too rowdy.

That’s a pretty nice combination for a young puppy.

🏡 Demi’s Perfect Match

Demi’s dream home is less about who lives there and more about how they live.

She’d love an active family that enjoys including their dog in life’s adventures. Her foster family can easily picture her growing into a fantastic hiking, camping, and outdoor companion. A fully-fenced, secure yard is a must for all her exploring, stick collecting, and important backyard investigations, but what’s most important is a family that keeps both her body and her busy little brain engaged.

Demi enjoys other dogs and plays well with them, but she doesn’t seem to need a canine sidekick to be happy. She’s independent enough to thrive as an only dog and social enough to enjoy having dog friends.

Most of all, Demi is looking for a family that will continue her training, appreciate her goofy personality, laugh when she drags home a stick bigger than she is, and lovingly support her ongoing crusade against empty food bowls.

Because apparently somebody has to keep those bowls in line.

💜 The Heart of Demi

The thing I keep coming back to is that line from her foster family.

The one about waiting for the right family to let her heart really shine.

Because that feels exactly right.

Demi isn’t trying to be the loudest puppy in the room.

She isn’t fighting for attention.

She isn’t demanding the spotlight.

She’s just over there being wonderful.

Waiting for somebody to notice.

Waiting for somebody to realize that behind the fluffy ears, the goofy stick collection, the tennis ball obsession, and the occasional disagreement with an empty food bowl is a really lovely little dog.

The kind who could grow up hiking trails, going camping, learning agility, snuggling on the couch, riding shotgun on adventures, and becoming someone’s favorite hello at the end of every day.

And honestly?

I think her family is going to fall in love the moment they finally see what we’ve been seeing all along.
