#AdoptablePappy is a super sweet senior boy at approximately 10 years old. Pappy was set for euthanasia in a shelter in TX, when PRAR swooped in with less than 30 minutes left to save his life! WHEW! Pappy has been medically cleared for adoption and is looking for his perfect forever to spend his twilight years <3

This absolutely gorgeous little tiny 6 pound bungle of dog with his big brown eyes will look at you so lovingly, and enjoys following his people around the home when he isn’t napping. He is great on a leash and really enjoys leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. His tongue hangs out of his mouth adorably because he has no teeth, but let me tell ya – this boy is FOOD MOTIVATED and his favorite time of day is FOOD O’CLOCK! He is currently eating a wet food diet but he can also eat small sized kibble. Pappy is very friendly and enjoys people. While he’s been with us he has been neutral/not interested in most other dogs and non-reactive with cats.

Pappy has been medically cleared by our Veterinarian for adoption. He was recently neutered, had his rotten teeth extracted, blood work and x-rays were all good as well.  But – being a senior boy, Pappy has some conditions that come with age that an angel adopter should be aware of. He is a bit hard of hearing, but not deaf. The good thing is that when you vacuum while he’s sleeping, he rarely stirs. Pappy also has a challenging time with balance when it comes to navigating the stairs, especially going up or down more than 3 or 4 steps.  He will require a ranch home, or baby gates at the stairs to keep him from falling. Pappy is both near and far sighted so his depth perception isn’t great.  Pappy has been “in-tact” for most of his life and we have noticed that in a home with other dogs he will mark, but when other dogs are not present he will not mark.  We put diapers on him while inside with other dogs and he does great with them. He is crate trained and will bark to let you know when he needs to go outside to potty. Because of Pappy’s incredibly tiny stature, we will not be placing him into a home with small children.

Won’t you please consider adding this precious, sweet, loving little boy to your family? If you are not quite ready to add a new member to your family, won’t you please #SHARE our adoptable kiddos? You never know when your share is the share that will bring them home.

Pappy’s adoption fee is $175 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations, dewormers, and he will come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home. You can apply to welcome him into your family by completing an adoption application below. Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog (now and in the future) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying. APPLICATIONS NOT COMPLETED PROPERLY AND ENTIRELY WILL NOT BE PROCESSED
