Ya’ll gotta meet Oreo!! He is a 2-3 year old, 55 pound floof of a boi! He is likely some sort of standard poodle mix, but who cares, really, because we all know that mutts are the BEST DOGS EVER! Oreo is hands down, the bestest boy, ever! He is potty trained, rides great in the car, loves toys, and loves laps! He’s playful, affectionate, and really eager to please his hoomans! This boy knows he’s been given a second chance at life and he’s embracing every minute of it!

Oreo loves everyone to a fault, and wants to say hello to every person and dog he sees. He’s been around teeny tiny dogs and big dogs, too. He loves them all! If you’re looking for a tall, dark, handsome guy to snuggle with during movie marathons, Oreo is DEFINITELY your guy! He is a cuddle master and enjoys nothing more than being with his person. Are you a football fan? We hope so, because Oreo’s favorite toy is his blue football and he loves it when you throw it for him.

Oreo has an incredibly expressive face, and those eyes will always let you know how he feels. He knows how to work those eyes, too. He gives the most irresistable, sweet and innocent puppy dog eyes. Oreo is one of the most loving dogs we’ve ever met. He is a devoted, loving, smart, energetic companion who is ready to finally find the people who are going to give him the undying devotion that he’s going to give them in return.

Oreo was tragically hit by a car on an Oklahoma highway in May, and both of his front legs were broken. His owner requested that he be euthanized, but the rescue had different plans for Oreo. We had surgery performed on both front legs and Oreo has been healing and recovering in a loving foster home ever since. He’s been in a home with a very small yard to keep him resting, but now this fun-loving boy is ready to get his run on! He loves to go for walks, but can pull on the leash a little. He’s working on this.

We would love for Oreo to find an active family who will take him on all of life’s adventures! He LOVES to play in the lake, play with other dogs, run zoomies and give epic snuggles. He is hoping for a nice big yard to run around in, but it must have a tall fence. Oreo can jump a 4′ fence, and we NEVER want him to be in a situation where he goes head-to-head with a car again! Oreo is ready to go home now, but will require one more easy surgery in about 4-6 weeks where our orthopedic surgeon will remove the hardware in his front legs. He’s all healed up and doesn’t need them anymore! The rescue will be paying for this surgery at our veterinarian. You guys HAVE to meet this wonderful, wonderful boy! He is truly INCREDIBLE!

KNOWN HISTORY – This uber sweet boyo made his way to PRAR after being hit by a car on a highway in Oklahoma in May. Both of his front legs were broken and his owner surrendered him to be euthanized. We had different plans for Oreo, though! Oreo had surgery to repair his broken legs, and has been doing FABULOUS during his recovery! Now it’s time for this sweet guy to find his perfect forever family!

Oreo’s adoption fee is $450 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations and dewormers, and 30 days of medical insurance. He will also come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog, (professional training will be required within 1 year of adoption) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying, (see minimum requirements above).
