Are you looking for the love(r) of your life? Meet Morton, our 3 month old Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle mix pup! (Yorkiepo0) Morty’s happy place is anywhere that he can sit on a lap. If he can’t sit on your lap, well, being carried around like a baby will do! Morty is 4-lbs of pure affection, and he has done well with dogs of all sizes. From 70-lbs to 5-lbs ,there is no dog he doesn’t love! Better yet, he understands boundaries and knows to back off if another dog isn’t interested. After a quick “no, thanks” he moves on with his day. Likely, back into your lap!
Morty takes to new experiences and challenges with slight reservations, but he is so brave! The first time we played music from our house speakers he wanted some reassurance, then he was dancing with us! The first time he heard thunder he needed some lap time, then he was good to go. The first time we insisted he go up the 4 stairs from our back door into our kitchen, he huffed at us like we were crazy. After some encouragement from us, and guidance from our other dogs, he made it up and did quite the victory lap in celebration!
Toys are Morty’s second favorite thing in the world (his favorite being snuggles). He will find a new toy or stick and parade it around, trying to entice someone to try and take it from him. Sometimes he can’t decide if he’d rather play or cuddle, so he’ll just bring a toy into your lap instead. Morty is an adaptable, loving, and playful pup who would do well in nearly any home. He could be the perfect family dog with older children who know how to be gentle with small dogs, or perfect as a pampered pooch for a solo parent. KNOWN HISTORY – This precious kiddo was surrendered to rescue by a commercial kennel. These dogs were nothing more than a number in their previous lives, but their lives changed forever the day they were surrendered to PRAR! They’ve spent their time with us living in wonderful, loving foster homes learning what it’s like to be genuinely loved. ❤️

Morton’s adoption fee is $850 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations and dewormers, as well as 30 days of medical insurance. He will come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home. You can apply to welcome him into your family by completing an adoption application below.
Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog, (professional training will be required within 1 year of adoption) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying, (see minimum requirements above).
