Hewoooo! My name is Millie, and I am a 12 month old Labrador Retriever / Standard Poodle mix. I am also one tough chick! I’m a heartworm survivor 💕  I really like playing outside with my foster sister and brother, although I have learned to be content just hanging in the house when I have to. The labrador in me makes me a curious gal and I like to watch the comings and goings in the ‘hood through the front window. Yeah, I’ll bark a little to let my hoomans know there are strangers outside, but it doesn’t last long.  I LOVE snuggling with my hoomans! That’s prolly one of my most favorite things ever!  And anywhere they go… I will happily follow. I might be a little spoiled, but honestly, I deserve it!  My foster mom loves me SO much, that she lets me get comfortable on the couch, or in her bed. Don’t worry, I also have a bed, and I like sleeping in there, too.  I do ok in my kennel to sleep at night, but I can get a little anxious when I am in the kennel and my folks leave. I will calm down… I’m just not a big fan of the cage. I do get left alone for a couple of hours on most days. Let me tell you, though, that I get SUPER excited to see my humans when they return!  Foster mom says I need to work on my jumping up, but I can’t help it! I get SO EXCITED to see my people and to meet new people that sometimes I forget my manners. I’m a smart girl and I know my basic skills: sit, stay and come. Sometimes I even do them when you ask, LOL! I am potty trained, but while I was kept quiet in the house (for heartworm treatment) I also learned to use the potty pads that were left out for me. I admittedly need to work on letting my hoomans know when I have to go out, but if they let me out regularly – I do all my business out in yard like the good girl I am! I am a happy, loving, energetic, BIG girl. My rescuers say that I am FREAKISHLY strong! I would love a home with breed experience, who wants to welcome a big ol’ floofy, marshmallow-y, booful love bug into their family. Is that you?

KNOWN HISTORY – Millie and her sister Tillie were surrendered to rescue at 10 months of age, when their owner decided to move states and didn’t want to take the girls with them. Tillie was adopted into a loving home quickly, but Millie had to stay with us for a while because her owners didn’t love her enough to put her on heartworm prevention and those nasty parasites got her! She has completed treatment and gave us a big fat – NEGATIVE in February! WOOHOO!

Won’t you please consider adding this precious, sweet, loving little girl to your family? If you are not quite ready to add a new member to your family, won’t you please #SHARE our adoptable kiddos on social media? You never know when your share is the share that will bring them home.

Millie’s adoption fee is $575 and includes spay, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations, dewormers, and heartworm prevention started. She will come home with a hobo bag of things to help her get started in her new furever home. You can apply to welcome her into your family by completing an adoption application below.

Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog (now and in the future) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying.
