McGEE
ALERT: LAP DOG! LAP DOG! LAP DOG! Now that we have your attention let’s talk more about this sweet, lovable pup. Our little McGee is the complete package! At 3.5 months old and not even 4 pounds yet, this snuggly little Morkie (Maltese & Yorkie mix) will have you entranced with one look. But one word of caution: your heart will melt completely when he looks at you with those adoring puppy-dog eyes.
This little guy is definitely a loving soul with a lot of character and charm and can immediately capture the hearts of anyone who has the opportunity to cross his path. Besides being the epitome of a small dog with a penchant to cuddle up in someone’s lap, he will also run laps around a carpeted room when the urge strikes him. McGee can suddenly have a burst of energy and do his best impersonation of a race car driver taking laps around the track. It’s hilarious to watch.
His foster mom says he is excelling in potty pad training and has only had a couple of accidents. He loves to play with his toys, either with his foster mom and dad or by himself. His favorite toys are the ones that squeak and he’s so proud of himself when he can get them to make that sound. He can also entertain himself for long periods of time with his chew toys. In fact, he likes them so much that he hasn’t shown any inclination to chew on things that he shouldn’t.
However, if you leave a sock on the floor, he’ll tag it as his own and start running circles and tossing it around. It’s hard not to laugh because he’s so darn cute when he’s being naughty! He’s super smart, easy to train and eager to please. He’s doing well at learning to sit on command and is trying his best to not have mini temper-tantrums when put in his pen for a break and some quiet time.
He likes to explore and has great curiosity for new things. He’s very playful and really enjoys playing “Pirate”, so much so that he has earned the nickname “Blackbeard” by virtue of the dark markings around his jaw and mouth.
But McGee’s FAVORITE thing in the whole world is being in his foster Mom and Dad’s lap. Being part Maltese, his coat is very soft and he will likely shed very little, if at all. He will, however, require regular professional grooming and frequent brushing between visits.
This teeny-tiny bundle of love would do best in a home that does not have small children. He is TINY and can get hurt very easily. He would do well as an only child or with another small dog. He would be most comfortable in a home where his Hoomans spend a good deal of time watching television or reading, and who will create the perfect environment for McGee to show off his love for a warm lap to snuggle up and sleep.
Speaking of sleep, this little Morkie knows when its bedtime. He settles down very quickly and will generally sleep quietly through the night.
If you are looking to bring a teeny-tiny, snuggly, lap-dog into your life, McGee would like you to put in an application to see if you are the right fit for his forever home.
