Kingsley Can Go Home: 1/26/23

Adoption Fee: $375

Despite Kingsley’s young age, this approximately 1.5 year old, male, terrier mix bundle of love is an old soul. While found as a stray in Oklahoma, he undoubtedly had someone previously who loved him very much. He has the calmest demeanor of any dog I’ve ever encountered. He likes everyone he meets, humans and dogs alike. He approaches anyone new with cautious optimism and, within seconds is nuzzling and wagging his tail. This young pup is completely house-broken and took to the doggy doors like a champ; letting himself out to go potty and has never had an accident in the house. He enjoys beds, couches and comfortable chairs, though he really seems to enjoy laying on his doggy bed by the front door so he can keep his eye on what’s going on outside. His love of all comfortable furniture leads me to believe he was fairly pampered by his previous owner. While he loves to jump into bed with me in the morning, he is content to go off to the family room and sleep on the couch with our other dogs. He walks extremely well on a leash, never pulling, and adjusts his gait to whatever speed I’m walking so I have to believe someone in his prior life spent time working with him. He is a picky eater and not really food motivated, though he does like certain treats. He doesn’t seem to know what toys are for, but Kingsley loves romping through the snow! He is just starting to want to play with the other dogs in the home. We think Kingsley’s perfect world would be where he had a human or two all to himself; a quiet environment where he would be loved and cuddled a lot. He likes everyone but seems to bond more with women. He is a non-chewer but loves to takes shoes or any article of clothing left laying around to his dog bed so he can have a piece of his hooman near him at all times. He never barks and only whined a little when we brought him home with us. Once he realized he was in a safe place, the whining stopped and he settled in splendidly. Kingsley doesn’t appear to have a mean bone is his body but he does get jealous when the other dogs get attention. He just inserts himself between his human and the other dog to convey that he wants some lovies too. If you are looking for a low-maintenance pup, Kingsley is your guy. You just need to be ready to give him a ton of love because this darling boy craves it.

KNOWN HISTORY – Kingsley was found running stray in Oklahoma City by a kind, deaf man. He was never reclaimed from the city shelter, and he was REALLY super scared in there! Because he was so sad and shut down, the shelter wanted to euthanize him. Our rescue partners saw through his fear at the shelter, and we are so glad they did! He really, truly is a wonderful, darling, loving creature!

Won’t you please consider adding this precious, sweet, loving little boy to your family? If you are not quite ready to add a new member to your family, won’t you please #SHARE our adoptable kiddos on social media? You never know when your share is the share that will bring them home.

Kingsley’s adoption fee is $400 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations and dewormers. He has been started on Heartworm prevention as well. He will come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home. You can apply to welcome him into your family by completing an adoption application below.

Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog, (professional training will be required within 1 year of adoption) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying, (see minimum requirements above).
