Journey, an energetic and curious 3 month-old Labrador Retriever puppy. And honestly, if you know anything about Labs he fits the description perfectly. He is friendly, outgoing, high-spirited, and will make the perfect companion. He is an active puppy who is always on the lookout for new adventures and activities to keep him entertained. His favorite time of day is when we do our enrichment activities such as snuffle mats and dog puzzles that help keep his mind stimulated. I just know that once Journey becomes fully vaccinated and is able to go on walks he will think he’s in heaven! His eagerness to explore extends beyond the confines of his current living space. He has fully sniffed out every nook and cranny within the house and yard and is ready for new horizons. In the company of both humans and other dogs, Journey displays excellent social skills and enjoys sharing and playing with his foster siblings. He exhibits remarkable patience, allowing his little (foster) sister to steal his toys without any signs of aggression. At this young and active stage he does not seek out cuddles often; but, he is always open to receiving them when offered/forced by humans and dogs. It seems that he has formed a special bond with the resident six- year-old, as evidenced by the moments where he rests his head on my son’s leg or back for a quick nap. It’s so adorable! Another endearing habit of his is licking toes, especially when his foster mom is setting up the snuffle mat at the kitchen counter. One of my favorite things about Journey is his expressive eyebrows and the way they furrow. Just look at that face! These adorable facial expressions add to his already charming personality, make him the perfect new addition to your home.
About the Breed
The sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America’s most popular dog breed. Labs are friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a medium-to-large dog. The sturdy, well-balanced Labrador Retriever can, depending on the sex, stand from 21.5 to 24.5 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 55 to 80 pounds. The dense, hard coat comes in yellow, black, and a luscious chocolate. The head is wide, the eyes glimmer with kindliness, and the thick, tapering ‘otter tail’ seems to be forever signaling the breed’s innate eagerness. Labs are famously friendly. They are companionable housemates who bond with the whole family, and they socialize well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don’t mistake his easygoing personality for low energy: The Lab is an enthusiastic athlete that requires lots of exercise, like swimming and marathon games of fetch, to keep physically and mentally fit.

They finally got to be members of a real family, and we can’t wait to watch them grow up in loving homes where they are part of YOUR family, too!

Journey’s adoption fee is $750 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations, dewormers, and he will each come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home.
