Are you looking for a bestest friend who is a bonafide 10/10? Well… you can stop looking now cuz’ DATS ME, Gatsby! I’m a 3 month old Pekingese boi and my foster mama sez dat you will struggle to find anything you don’t love about me. I’m always happy. I’m not a big barker. I LOVE being with my hoomans. I ride beautifully in my crate in the car. If you have a little time to rub my belly, and maybe my ears…oh, and my neck… I will enthusiastically kiss your chin with so many thank yous! My foster mama sez dat she just can’t get enough of my world famous ‘Gatsby Hugs.’ I love to tuck my head into the crook of her neck and let her kiss the top of my head. I really like to play with my foster siblings and I’ll even give kisses to the big dogs, too! I lived in a cage before I came here, and here is LOTS better! I get to run
around the yard and chase sticks! How cool is dat!? I know I will love walks like the big dogs take, but I won’t need to go far. I don’t have that kind of energy. I prefer the lazy life, and because I’m a brachiocephalic boi, you shouldn’t expect me to do any rigorous exercises or hikes and stuffs. I DO like to run, though, and I has the best happy-run dat you ever saw! I know you won’t be able to resist bending down and scooping me up. (Dat’s why I do it, after all!) I’m happy to be cradled like a baby while you scratch all my favorite spots, and I will sit on your lap for bit, but den I gets hot, cuz I gots all this fabulous hair! When I gets hot, I will sit right next to you and we can just enjoy some togeder-ness . If get to warm laying next to you, please don’t feel bad if I eventually need to crash on the floor to cool off. 

I gots toys now, and MAN IS THAT COOL! I likes to play with ALL. DA. TOYS. Ropes, sticks, stuffed toys, bones, and tiny balls, too! I hopes you gots lots of toys for me to play with! I’m working reeeeally hard on dis new potty training thing. Foster mama sez I’m doing SO GOOD, but just need a little more practice. I’m a mellow guy who likes to play gently wiff da other dogs and I can be a little cautious at first. I think I would love a home that isn’t crazy chaotic. Oh, and I LOVE to be right by my people…a lot, and I sometimes don’t get outta da way very fast, so a home with small kids prolly wouldn’t be great for me. But if you has a mellow home that a mellow boi like me would love – please fill out dat adoption application today! 

KNOWN HISTORY – This precious kiddo was surrendered to rescue by a commercial kennel. These dogs were nothing more than a number in their previous lives, but their lives changed forever the day they were surrendered to PRAR! They’ve spent their time with us living in wonderful, loving foster homes learning what it’s like to be genuinely loved. ❤️

Gatsby’s adoption fee is $850 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations and dewormers, and 30 days of medical insurance. He will come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home. You can apply to welcome him into your family by completing an adoption application below.

Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog (now and in the future) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying.
