Meet the mama! We believe Mama Moira to be a Chihuahua/Shih-tzu mix. She weighed 18 pounds just prior to delivery. She weighed 11 pounds after she delivered 8 babies. We do NOT know who the dad was. Moira was facing euthanasia at the OKC animal shelter. (Pregnant dogs can not be adopted out.) You may visit our FACEBOOK PAGE and scroll through the posts to see several videos of the babies. You may also search her hashtag on our FB page to pull up all of their posts. #MamaMoira

David Can Go Home: NOW

Adoption Fee: $575

David WILL require regular professional grooming, at least once every 4 weeks. Please keep that expense in mind before applying to adopt.

Let’s get the elephant in the room taken care of. Yes, David, the 9 week old floof-a-lottamus is a GIRL. And if you’re planning on changing her name, you can’t adopt her! This is one of the most comical mishaps in PRAR history, and David is now a national treasure. Her name stays! LOL! Did her followers happen to notice the not so subtle, “proof of gender” photo up top? You know, that, “paint me like one of your French girls, Jack,” picture? David is a girl. It is what it is, and it cracks us up daily! David has really blossomed over the past couple of weeks. Initially she was the shy, aloof one, always hiding out by herself. But since the discovery and subsequent acknowledgement that David is, in fact, a girl, she has become the most confident in the litter! We are convinced that acknowledging her TRUE SELF helped her to grow as a pup, and we’re proud of her! David is a leader. She is strong and brave and happy to show her siblings whats what. She loves to play with her siblings, chew on all the toes in the house, cause mayhem, and snuggle sometimes, too. She is NOT a fan of grooming, though. None of them are, actually. Good luck with that because DAVID WILL REQUIRE REGULAR PROFESSIONAL GROOMING AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 4 WEEKS!

All of the kiddos in this litter are doing very well with potty pad training, and eagerly use the doggy door, (even when they aren’t supposed to!) Keep in mind that these are new little babies, and they will require potty training, obedience training, and must be supervised, both inside and outside of the home. None of them are big enough or brave enough to attempt to climb or decend the stairs yet. They are pen trained and sleep through the night, though that may change when they don’t have their siblings to snuggle with. We STRONGLY suggest that adopters invest in a, “Heartbeat Dog” to help them through the lonely nights. ALL of these puppies would do very well to have another friendly pooch in the home to play with and learn from. Preference will be given to loving, responsible homes with a friendly pal for them to hang out with.

KNOWN HISTORY – These babies were born in rescue, to Mama Moira, via emergency cesarean on 10/4/22. They have been raised in a safe, loving foster home, and have been loved and doted on daily. They are all well socialized, and spoiled appropriately. They have only ever been exposed to positive reinforcement and these great foundations must continue in their forever homes.

Won’t you please consider adding this precious, sweet, loving little girl to your family? If you are not quite ready to add a new member to your family, won’t you please #SHARE our adoptable kiddos on social media? You never know when your share is the share that will bring them home.

David’s adoption fee is $575. Her adoption fee includes spay, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations and dewormers. She will come home with a hobo bag of things to help her get started in her new furever home. You can apply to welcome her into your family by completing an adoption application below.

Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog (now and in the future) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying.

Please read each question carefully and answer with as much detail and information as possible! If you don’t, you will likely be skipped over for someone who did.
