Dear Santa, My name is Barney and all I want for the holidays is to find my furrever home. Here’s some information about me that you could share with my future family: I’m a 1 year old Beagle boy. I’m a little on the independent side and I love to explore! While I’m out exploring, I love meeting and playing with new friends. Two legged friends, or four, it doesn’t even matter! My foster mom does say that I have lots of something called “puppy energy,” all bundled up into a small, ridiculously adorable package (I think she means me). I would really like to find an energetic explorer hooman to pal around with. Are you a hiker? HELLOOOOOOO friend! I would love to be your perfect sidekick! I also would really like a friendly dog to play with as well,  I’m really good at tug-o-war and I LOVE to play chase with other friendly doggos! My foster mom also said I’m a true-to-breed beagle and like to “talk.” But, I’m also a really good listener… especially when treats are involved! I’ve mastered sitting for things that I want… I even sit nicely and wait for my dinner. I’m really trying hard to learn new commands as well.  Now, Santa, there are a few little quirks I’m working on… I’m doing well with housetraining, but I am still a pup! Sometimes I get soooo busy playing with friends that I forget to make it outside. Oooops. I also don’t like popping sounds, (think bubble wrap.) I just don’t dig it, and will cower and shake at the sound. BUT, with a few cuddles and reassurance I forget all about it and I’m happy as a clam and off and playing in no time! We just got through this thing called Thanksgiving at my foster mom’s house. There was tons of noise, and new experiences, and through all of that I was a-okay. Speaking of cuddling, don’t let my independent nature fool you! I LOVE to CUDDLE.  When my foster mom is busy working I will snuggle up next to her while she works. If she’s super busy, I’ll lay next to her and chew on a toy, or take a snooze.  But what I really love is at the end of the day, we’ll cuddle on the couch and she rubs my ears – which my foster moms says are totally irresistible, super soft, floppy ears.  I mean really, who could resist that?!  Thanks again, Santa, for helping me find my furrever home, Love Barney.

KNOWN HISTORY – Betty and Barney were pulled out of the OKC animal shelter with horrible upper respiratory infections. Sick dogs don’t last long in municiple shelters, unfortunately. Knowing their time was exceedingly limited,  we pulled them into our program and spent a month treating their URI and getting them fully vetted and ready to find their forever families. Both their OK and CO foster families gush over these darling little dogs and their silly antics.

Won’t you please consider adding this precious, sweet, loving little boy to your family? If you are not quite ready to add a new member to your family, won’t you please #SHARE our adoptable kiddos on social media? You never know when your share is the share that will bring them home.

Barney’s adoption fee is $550 and includes neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, age appropriate vaccinations and dewormers. He has been started on Heartworm prevention as well. He will come home with a hobo bag of things to help him get started in his new furever home. You can apply to welcome him into your family by completing an adoption application below.

Please understand that adopting from P.R.A.R. means FOREVER. Please do NOT apply if you do not have the time to properly train and exercise a dog, (professional training will be required within 1 year of adoption) or if you do not meet the minimum adoption requirements for the dog in which you are applying, (see minimum requirements above).
