I love this dog ya’ll. I mean, I REALLY LOVE THIS DOG! We really hope you will see how wonderful she is, too. We walked into that shelter in TX, and we saved the dog who was there the longest! MEET ARYA! This Gorgeous, happy, soft, sweet, ball-loving angel was saved AS SHE WAS WALKING BACK TO BE EUTHANIZED – Now she’s a spoiled Colorado girl, looking for a forever family to give all of her love and gratitude to! Arya is incredibly friendly, and loves to be around people and other doggos. She is a bit shy around bigger dogs at first, but once she gets to know them she loves to play and wrestle! Arya loves to nuzzle up against her foster peeps, and when they scratch her behind the ears? Well she could just stand there forever. ♥ It’s good to be loved! Arya sometimes don’t know her own strength and could easily knock over a young child, but she has done really great with the bigger 2-legged ones. She is potty trained and knows how to sit on command, especially when you offer her treats or peanut butter. Her foster family is working to teach her other commands. She is totally comfortable hanging out in her crate at night or when her fosters are gone, but boy she sure loves it when they come back and let her outside so she can run and play with them. Her favorite game is chasing the ball. Balls are HER JAM! She jas figured out that when she brings it back to them, they throw it again!! WOOHOO! This precious angel NARROWLY escaped death – c’mon Colorado! Let’s find her a wonderful family who will appreciate the wonderful gift that that she is!
KNOWN HISTORY – While touring the shelter in Amarillo, we were informed that Arya, who arrived at the shelter on Feb 12th, and was the longest stay dog there – was about to be walked back to the euthanasia building. We pulled her out immediately and began dog testing her and getting to know her. WHY?! WHY ON EARTH WOULD SOMEONE NOT WANT THIS DOG?! She is not only beautiful and sweet, but she sits on command, has a BEAUTIFUL smile, and balls are her JAM-JAM! There was a ratty old ripped-in-half tennis ball in the yard. I shrugged and picked it up to see if Arya had any interest in it. BOY OH BOY! You would have thought Santa just delivered the MOST. AMAZING. TOY. EVER!! Arya chased and retrieved that ratty old thing like it was her most prized possession! We brought in another beautiful dog we tagged, his name is Sam. Sam and Arya played together like long lost friends! My mind was reeling… why did Arya have to die today? She’s WONDERFUL! But… she’s a pibble. Just ANOTHER broken down, unwanted pibble in a shelter FULL of them. Her time was more than up… after 2 months of zero interest from rescues or adopters, the shelter was out of space and needed her kennel. So Arya had to die. Except… we were there. We SAW HER. We REALLY saw her. We saw a precious lil’ girl who just wanted to play, get belly rubs, and have her ratty old tennis ball. Arya was all smiles . It was just another day in the noisy, crowded shelter, but TODAY she got to play in the yard with a broken toy and a new friend, and she was HAPPY! She had no idea her life was about to end.
