🐶 About the “Bully Bros”

The “Bully Boys” are what we lovingly refer to as a pack of silly, clumsy hooligans. 😂🐾

They are happy, playful, squishy-faced angels… but they are also a lot of puppy.

These boys are:

  • clumsy
  • enthusiastic
  • Smarter than us
  • Into everything
  • Living their BEST lives (now)
  • still figuring out how to operate their giant feet

Which is adorable… but can also result in the occasional accidental bulldozing of smaller creatures during play.

Olde English Bulldogges are not the sedentary, flat-snouted bulldogs many people picture. They are a larger, more athletic, functional bulldog breed capable of keeping up with an active family, yet are perfectly content to binge watch the entire Supernatural series in one sitting if they’re getting snuggles.

Because of their size and energy, they will need:

  • A secure, fully fenced yard

  • room to run and play

  • continued training and enrichment

  • an engaged, present-more-than-not family ready for a big, smart, goofy puppy, who is going to be an absolutely A-MAZING life partner.

🐾 Francis

💙 The Hemsworth of the Dog World (But Squishier)

Let’s not pretend we’re here for anything other than that face.

Francis looks like the mob boss of the dog park. The kind of guy who would slowly crack his knuckles, lean back in a leather chair, and say, “We’ll handle this.”

He’s thicc. He’s sturdy. He’s built like a tiny gym bro who’s been hitting the squat rack since infancy.

And then he looks at you with those cornflower-blue eyes and suddenly the whole tough-guy act falls apart because this boy is, in reality, a precious, kissable, soft-hearted baby potato.

His coat is a stunning blue piebald pattern — cool slate gray splashed across bright white, wrapped over a sturdy little bulldog body with paws that are already hinting he’s going to grow into a big, solid boy. His fur is velvety soft, his face carries the perfect amount of bulldog wrinkles (enough for charm, not enough for drama), and that adorable underbite?

Well…

That underbite is what gives him *THE* most legendary plush, squishy, irresistible, kissable LIPS you have ever smashed your own lips into.

And yes, he gets a gadzillion kisses a day because

  1. Did you SEE his lips? They’re practically begging for it. And –
  2. HOW COULD YOU NOT?!

So let’s just get this out of the way right now:

If you aren’t going to take full advantage of DESE LIPS – please keep scrolling – Francis is not the dog for you.

Because these lips are not decorative.

They are a community resource.

🧠 Big Head, Big Brain Energy

Francis may look like the bouncer at a nightclub, but inside that big ol’ blocky head lives a seriously smart little guy.

This boy learned “sit” in under two minutes. Two. Minutes.

He is extremely food motivated, highly engaged with his humans, and absolutely thrives on one-on-one interaction, a gazillion snuggles, and lots of soft tummy rubs.

He’s currently working on:

  • Coming when called

  • Shake

  • Continuing his excellent progress with sit

And because he’s such a bright boy, the sky is really the limit for what he can learn with the right family continuing those daily training sessions.

Francis isn’t just smart — he wants to learn. He enjoys having tasks, puzzles, enrichment games, and opportunities to show off those developing neural connections.

Give him a challenge and a few snacks and you’ll see that little glint in his eye that says:

“Oh. We’re doing a thing. I love things.”

🎾 Play Hard. Love Harder.

Like most puppies, Francis enjoys a good play session. But he has a really lovely rhythm to his day.

He’ll run around outside exploring leaves, sticks, and the yard like a little explorer… then he’ll wrestle with his foster siblings, chase toys, dig through the ball pit looking for treats, or proudly play with the newly discovered balls (which are a HUGE hit!)

But here’s the best part about Francis — he always circles back to his people. His hoomans are his everything.

He’ll play hard for a bit, then suddenly dip out of the puppy chaos like:

“Excuse me, I require cuddles.”

He is a champion lap sitter, perfectly content to curl up beside his humans during a Netflix binge, periodically adjusting positions so he can snuggle even closer.

Following his person around the house like a loyal  shadow?
Absolutely.

Francis truly wants to be part of the family’s daily life, not just a spectator. Not your “trophy” dog. Your partner in everything.

🏡 Learning the World Is a Friendly Place

Francis is still a baby, and like many puppies, he sometimes needs a minute to take in new situations. He had an undesirable start to life and is now learning how amazing a real home, with people who love him is.

Occasionally when meeting someone new inside the home, he may hang back for a moment while he observes. But give him a lminute and that sweet, playful puppy emerges quickly once he realizes everything is safe and friendly.

Outside in the yard?
He’s ready for lovies, playtime, and adventure.

With other dogs, Francis is wonderfully social. He plays fairly, shares toys well, and happily wrestles with his foster siblings — his life’s mission is to make the “boss dog” in the house fall madly in love with him.

🚽 Potty Training Progress

Francis is doing really well with potty training.

He:

  • goes outside to pee and poop

  • easily uses the doggy door

  • will use potty pads indoors if needed

  • Sleeps all night in the doggy bed next to his foster mom, and races outdoors first thing in the morning.

Because he loves being with his humans, sometimes he prefers staying inside near the action instead of heading out solo. But if a person goes outside with him, he happily takes care of business. Translation: He’s very BRAVE – But not really – yet.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Friends of All Shapes and Sizes

Francis has done well with:

  • men

  • women

  • teenagers

  • elderly folks

  • small dogs

  • big dogs

He hasn’t met very young children or cats yet, so slow introductions would be recommended.

One thing to note: Francis is not a particularly mouthy puppy, which is a refreshing surprise. He prefers toys (and shoelaces!) to nibbling on hands.

Speaking of shoelaces…

😏 Tiny Mischief Department

Francis does have a tiny streak of pretty impressive mischief.

He can untie shoelaces even when they’re double knotted. And you won’t feel him doing it.

He will occasionally grab the corner of a blanket and give it a determined tug.

And if he spots a small wiffle ball?

That thing is about to become structurally compromised.

The best part is the face he makes afterward — a perfectly innocent expression paired with those big blue eyes that say:

“I have absolutely no idea how that happened.”

❤️ The Heart of Francis

When you really look into Francis’s eyes, you see two things immediately:

Intelligence.
And love.

He is a puppy who deeply wants to belong. To learn. To cuddle. To follow his humans through life like a loyal bulldog companion.

He’ll wrestle with friends.
He’ll chase toys.
He’ll explore the yard.

But at the end of the day? (and whenever he isn’t playing or exploring)

He wants to curl up next to his person, sigh happily, let you rub that potato belly, and be exactly where he knows he belongs.

He’s the perfect balance of deeply-connected, yet independent enough to find something to do while you’re working or otherwise occupied.

KNOWN HISTORY:

ABOUT THIS BREED:

Olde English Bulldogge

The Olde English Bulldogge (OEB) is a medium-to-large, muscular, athletic breed developed in the 1970s to recreate the classic bulldog look while improving overall health and temperament. Unlike the modern English Bulldog, the OEB was intentionally bred to be more active, more athletic, and less prone to breathing and health problems.

Most Olde English Bulldogges weigh 60–105 pounds and typically live 11–14 years, which is longer than many other flat-faced bulldog breeds.

Temperament

Despite their powerful appearance, Olde English Bulldogges are friendly, affectionate, and playful companions. They are confident and loyal dogs that form strong bonds with their families. With proper socialization, they are typically welcoming toward strangers and enjoy interacting with other dogs and animals.

OEBs are known for being people-focused, emotionally intuitive, and eager to please, which makes them highly trainable and responsive to their owners.

Intelligence & Trainability

Olde English Bulldogges are smart and eager learners. They respond well to positive training and can excel in obedience work, service tasks, therapy work, and even agility. Because they enjoy mental stimulation, training sessions should remain engaging to prevent boredom.

Energy Level

This breed has moderate energy levels. They enjoy playtime and walks but are equally happy relaxing with their family. Regular exercise such as yard play, daily walks, or interactive games helps keep them physically healthy and mentally satisfied.

Children & Other Animals

With proper socialization, Olde English Bulldogges are typically excellent family dogs. They are known for being patient, affectionate, and protective with children. Most OEBs also do well with other animals and enjoy playing with other dogs, though early socialization is important.

Watchdog Ability

Olde English Bulldogges make excellent watchdogs. They are naturally alert and will bark to notify their family of strangers or unusual activity. However, they are not excessive barkers.

Grooming & Care

OEBs are relatively easy to care for. Their short coats require regular brushing to manage shedding, which occurs year-round and may increase during seasonal changes. Routine grooming should also include bathing as needed, regular nail trimming, and veterinary checkups.

Diet

Olde English Bulldogges thrive on a high-quality diet formulated for medium-to-large breeds, rich in protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Proper nutrition and portion control help maintain healthy weight and overall wellbeing.

Ideal Home

Olde English Bulldogges thrive in homes where they receive regular companionship, exercise, and attention. They enjoy being part of family activities and do best with owners who can be with them more often than not. With proper care and socialization, they are wonderful companions for families, individuals, and even first-time dog owners.
